  15. Sorry I haven't responded earlier.  I've been on my back for the past week.
  16. Something got clogged/burst in an artery and I lost about 3 pints of the red
  17. stuff.  This happened the morning after I'd posted the message which got
  18. this whole furor started..so take your satisfaction out of that!

  25. Why would I think either of you aren't on the Net.  Fact is, I sent Asha
  26. private email, with an explanation as to the purpose of my original post,
  27. and you and I have traded thoughts on the issue several times.

  29. Do you really feel that there is much of a difference in communication
  30. between the 'Net' and Fido.  A year ago, yes.  Six months ago, very little.
  31. Now, virtually none.  If AT do manage to hang in there, what are they
  32. considering that their saviour will be (akin to when C= was gambling on the
  33. CD32 as their last hope)?  The Surfer package, and now, it would seem from
  34. Ceebit the "Walker" or whatever it's going to be called.  Another way
  35. to spell both is "Internet".

  37. No Jeff, I cannot possibly imagine why I would think that you couldn't get
  38. Internet connections; nor why I would want to think that.

  40. As to the comment of "casting aspersions with no possible repercussions"
  41. (wow, you're good Jeff, would you consider being my spell checker?:-),
  42. what's been said has been said out in the open...I don't debate...I don't
  43. knowingly cast any apersions (had to look that one up in the dictionary -
  44. seems to mean to insult someone with the intention of malice), although
  45. some people are known to read out of context following the first word
  46. which upsets their own particular sense of propriety.

  48. I really don't know what else to say on this issue other than the fact that
  49. if you feel I have some sort of a vendetta against two reputable Amiga
  50. users, you grossly underestimate me.

  57. Sorry, Jeff.  If it's an ongoing debate that you want, point by point...
  58. I'm not the man.  My eldest son who's far more knowledgeable about these
  59. things than I am tells me that you are the author of a major BBS program.
  60. Might that account for your fanaticism to Fidonet.  Internet will change
  61. its useage, but I suspect that the local BBS operator, together with
  62. points across the land will be here after we're gone.

  64. I would more likely judge from your proficiency as a programmer that you
  65. orderly and like to deal with issues, point by point.  Unfortunately,
  66. there is little room in my personality for that.  I gather as many points
  67. as quickly as I can, from whatever sources, and then make quick decisions.
  68. My profession also demands that from me.

  74. I agree, a source should seldom, if ever, be accepted without question.
  75. But every source should be examined, placed in context, analyzed.....That's
  76. how the FBI work, that's how a court of law works, that's how a good stock
  77. broker works.  It isn't until you know everything that you can get your
  78. hands on that you can develop a perspective for what to discard.  And in the
  79. fast moving computer business, today's musings, or planted rumors could well
  80. be the start of a new business plan tomorrow.
